Why I actually loved 2016

Like many other people out there, I have joked about how atrocious 2016 was on the world. We lost idols, there were disasters, there were things that were just plain horrifying. It was definitely one of the worst on record. But I am going to kickstart my plan to blog more often with rounding up why I’m grateful for 2016… namely, that my heart is still beating to stride into 2017, looking back and saying “We’re still here, we got this.”

Why do I want to be a writer?

Why do I want to be a writer?

I have had this question asked of me a time or two since I “came out” as a writer. I put it like that because, for as long as I have been writing, I spent years being too scared to share my work with anyone but having this burning fire inside me that won’t die out. The thing about being an artist with a talent in any artform is that there is always nerves and anxiety. There is fear and doubt. Is it good enough? Will anyone like what I do? Why would anyone want to read what I write? How can I be as good as the published authors? Lately, I have been on a mission to combat these niggly and pesky doubts lingering inside.
